Poor Starting

All of a sudden she refused to start until after about 6 attempts and then didn't run correctly.   Apart from a conviction it was a fuel problem I couldn't figure out the answer, but when Andy offered to come and help with other problems I hoped he could find the solution.

Just to guarantee the problem would occur I left the car for a few days before he came up.   I removed the boot 'box', the tunnel top and the bonnet so we had clear access to the whole fuel system.

Once we were in position we cranked the engine and she fired immediately and ran perfectly.   How frustrating.   It was only later in the day that I realised the big difference between normal use and the present setup was the removal of the boot 'box'.   It turned out that when I rebuilt the fuel pipes after fitting the new pump that I had positioned the pipes so they were squashed when the box was put it in.

So a simple fix to fit some spacers so the box is raised about an inch to make sure it doesn't interfere with the fuel lines.
